Step 5: Cleaning and Sanitizing

By this point in the process, the journey toward restoration is well under way, we have moved from assessment to water removal to dehumidification. Our teams have addressed the damage, but the property is still left undone. It's now time to turn our eyes and efforts to restoring the property back to how it was (and even a little better).

The next step of the process is cleaning and sanitation. The whole property is in need of professional cleaning services, the walls, flooring, and ceiling as well as the furniture, upholstery, clothing, and other items ravaged by water. Most water damage events also requires odor removal and deodorization since wet materials tend to produce odors that are best described as unpleasant.

The goal that our teams always aim for is the impression that nothing's happened. The SERVPRO motto captures this aim, "Like it never even happened." For us, there is no other standard.
